CCAP — Creative Communities Acceleration Program

About the program

Art as a tool for freedom of expression.

CCAP brings together musicians, film professionals and theatre practitioners from Belarus, Sweden and LIthuania who see art as a tool for public dialogue. The program includes three creative residencies in which new collaborative projects and cultural works in film, music, and theatre are developed.

It also includes an educational study visit to Sweden and international meetups in Vilnius, where cultural leaders gather to exchange experience and plan joint initiatives. During the residencies, participants create music tracks, a short film, and a theatre performance — and establish long-term partnerships between Belarusian, Lithuanian, and Swedish creative communities.

Camp 01 — Theatre

Theatre Camp

On March 28 in Vilnius, the international theatre camp within CCAP came to a close, bringing together artists from Belarus and Sweden. Over a week, participants worked in the format of an intensive residency, exploring theatre as a tool for dialogue, community-building, and reflection on contemporary social processes.

The final performance became an open and emotionally charged space that did not offer ready-made answers, but instead invited reflection. Through personal stories, music, and physical expression, it touched on themes of self-censorship, inner conflict, and the everyday moral choices that shape our reality. More than 60 people attended.

Camp 02 — Music

Music Camp

The seven-day Music Camp brings together 10 participants from Belarus, Lithuania and Sweden for an intensive creative exchange focused on exploring music as a tool for community building, resilience, and democratic expression.

The program combines learning and practice — workshops on the role of music in cultural resilience and contemporary approaches to artist promotion, jam sessions, collaborative ideation, and the creation of new music tracks in international teams. It concludes with a public concert in Klaipeda and a reflection session.

Camp 03 — Film

Film Camp

The seven-day Film Camp brings together 10 participants from Belarus, Lithuania and Sweden for an intensive creative exchange focused on exploring film as a tool for community building, resilience, and democratic expression.

The program combines learning and practice — workshops on the role of film in working with communities, an overview of short-film distribution, brainstorming, collaborative ideation, and the creation of a short film in international teams. It concludes with a public screening and Q&A at a Vilnius cinema.

PARTICIPATION TERMS

Participation is free of charge.
We select only 10 participants.
Program includes workshops, collaboration works, actual filming and premiere.
- Accommodation, food and travel (economy class) are covered by organizers
- Basic filming equipment will be provided (camera, sound, lights)
- Working language English - we expect you to have at least Intermediate level (B1).

Mid or early career professionals.
Belarusian nationals living in any country.
Lithuanian nationals living in Lithuania.

Creative Communities Meetup

In November 2026 in Vilnius, the gathering under CCAP brings together the people who hold creative communities together — leaders, organisers, and the projects growing around them. Over 1 full day, participants step out of their day-to-day work to meet each other directly, share what they are building, and look for the connections that only happen in the same room. Main workshops will be streamed online. Online community activity for participants planned after the conference.

International Creative Communities Meetup

In May 2027 in Vilnius, CCAP closes with its largest gathering — an international meetup that brings creative communities from across borders into one shared space. It is the point where everything built over the programme comes together: the people, the projects, and the relationships formed along the way, now meeting on a wider stage. Grounded in community and genuine connection, the meetup makes room for communities to recognise one another beyond their own contexts. Through open dialogue, shared work, and the simple fact of being together, it turns a network on paper into one that people can feel — and carry forward long after the programme ends.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be 18+ and connected to the creative or cultural sector and the theme of the camp (theatre, music, film). We accept emerging and mid-career practitioners from Belarusian and Swedish creative communities, regardless of current place of residence.

Do I need professional experience to participate?

Formal education is not required. Basic experience in your field is expected, but motivation, openness, and willingness to collaborate are the main criteria.

What is the working language of the camps?

English is the primary language for all camps. A functional level of English is required to communicate and work with the group.

How many participants will be selected?

Each camp selects 10 participants in total (combined Belarusian and Swedish groups).

Are travel and accommodation covered?

Yes. Organizers cover round-trip travel, accommodation for the full duration, meals during the program, and all workshops, materials, locations and activities. Participants cover only personal expenses.

Do I need a visa?

Depending on your passport and residency status, you may need a visa to enter Lithuania or Sweden. If needed, organizers will issue an official invitation letter to support your visa application.

Can I arrive late or leave early?

No. Participation in the full duration of the camp is mandatory. Late arrivals or early departures significantly disrupt teamwork and final outcomes.

What is the selection process?

Selection is based on motivation (most important), previous creative experience, willingness to collaborate and learn, and understanding of democratic and community values. Long-listed applicants will be invited for a short online interview.

What should I include in the application?

You may share a portfolio or website, videos of performances, films or music, social media accounts, publications, and previous creative or community projects. Any materials that help us understand your practice are welcome.

Is participation free?

Yes. Participation is fully funded by the Swedish Institute.

What happens after the camp?

Participants are invited to the Creative Communities Meetup — an international gathering where all camp participants share results and co-create future initiatives. Selected participants will also join a Study Tour to Stockholm.
